Capetown Plaza is set for a major facelift which includes new tenants for the former Kmart plaza. HYANNIS, MA — After announcing a facelift for the former home to Kmart in Hyannis, officials confirmed that Whole Foods will open a space in the Hyannis Capetown Plaza. Cape Cod Gateway Airport and Massachusetts-based, mixed-use developer, WS Development, are planning a multi-phase redevelopment of Capetown Plaza. The parties said it will "begin imminently." Under the plan, the 26-acre property first developed as a retail center in 1968, best known as Kmart Plaza, will be transformed into a "modern lifestyle destination, featuring a refreshed mix of retailers and restaurants, placemaking elements, such as outdoor furniture and many site improvements.
