COVID-19 omicron boosters roll out as latest weapon against pandemicWhite House officials announced the roll-out of a new COVID-19 booster that's supposed to combat the omicron variant.There were 9,091 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts, increasing the total number of cases to 1,869,603 since the pandemic began, the state Department of Public Health reported on Thursday. In their weekly report, state officials also noted 1,176 new probable cases of coronavirus for a statewide total of 170,999.
